VIDEO
INSTALLATION PROPOSAL
My video installation is intended to make people have a connection with the feelings I was trying to portray in the video. My primary audience would be people who like abstract art and video installations. My installation will be aimed for adults age from 20-35 and college students that are learning about video installation. I also feel that youth would also benefit form watching my video because they would have more of an understanding of what video installation. My installation can be for higher class and middle class people.
The aim for my video installation is to portray my memory that I had of an incident and to help the audience feel a connection to the footage and in some way can relate, but I also want to make the audience feel uncomfortable and not really like what they are seeing.
I plan my video installation to be a maximum of 3 minutes long. I plan my exhibition space to be inside the TV studio with fake grass on the floor and pictures of trees on the walls I plan my video installation to played on an old TV screen to show to symbolise that my memory is in the past.
I will also have my installation show some split screens in the split screens I will have the same footage be played at the same time. I will do this so it can thought as to eyes seeing what’s happening and it can portray my point of view the memory. Also I will involve of loop of video but with parts of the video missing the loop play 3 or 4 times gradually loosing footage and at the end it will show only the main footage to symbolise the fact that memories are more vivid when just happened but as you get older you lose the detail to it and just remember the main things that happened on the day.
The style of approach I will use is abstract. My installation will not involve any music because I want it to convey a normal day so instead I will involve sounds of things going on around them like children playing, busy street sounds and a child crying I will include a silence to build tension.
My filming of my found footage will be on a Thursday and filming of my non-footage will be filmed on Tuesday then I will edit my installation on a Friday ready to premiere my installation on the 16th December and make the deadline that’s the 17th December.
